HOMEGROUND- A collection of paintings by Janine Marson
This is my home ground and where my favourite places are.
HOMEGROUND will be exhibited in the art space of the Dwight Public Library from September 4th until September 25th. Meet Janine and hear what inspires her to paint
during an artists' talk on Friday September 4th at 2:00 pm in the Dwight Public Library.
Janine's work can be viewed during regular library hours.
View this beautiful selection of original works and prints for sale during this show. Select works have been designated for stewardship in support of The Friends of Algonquin Park. The beauty of the land has left an indelible mark on her soul. All of her senses and memories of the moment spill out onto the canvas with emotion about the experience of being in Nature. " I am captivated and search for the truth of what I see in light and colour."
Janine is a well known artist who has exhibited through solo shows and local art groups over the last 17 years. She has steadily been rising in her career as a professional artist and was fortunate to have been selected to represent her beloved Muskoka at the 2011
One of Kind Spring Show and Sale in Toronto in the Muskoka Artists Marketplace.
She has painted some of the murals in Group of Seven Outdoor Gallery in Huntsville
and surrounding area and has done numerous commissions. An inspiring art instructor for 30 years in both Toronto and Muskoka, and for the last three years as an instructor at
The Haliburton School of the Arts and her own studio in downtown Huntsville.
For Janine, the opportunity to show her work in the intimate setting of the vibrant
Dwight Public Library is full circle and represents the desire to go back to her roots at Oxtongue Lake where she grew up. Volunteering her time and art skills to support OLAC Oxtongue Lake for Arts and Culture was something she felt compelled to do. Little did she know how deeply involved she would become, which was revealed in the interview by film
director Bob Hilscher in his newly released documentary, `Painting the Wilderness of the Oxtongue. One Lake. One River. Tom Thomson and the Group of Seven.`` that took place at the Algonquin Theatre to a packed audience on June 27th, 2015.
HOMEGROUND is a wonderful way to see this artists' work close up and personal. Janine has more exciting projects on the way and you can follow her journey on social media. twitter: janinemarson@throughtomseyes
