ECLIPSE GALLERY PRESENTS-TRANSITION at Deerhurst Resort

ECLIPSE GALLERY PRESENTS-TRANSITION

Janine Marson- Artists Perspective
I am fortunate to live in an area of diversity and constant change, as one season blends into the other with the stroke of a brush. The transitions of light and colour shifts fuel my desire to capture the essence of the moment. All of my senses come into play when I step up to the canvas and what spills out from within is the joy and wonder I feel while surrounded by nature.

I have two works in this show on display in the Eclipse Gallery at Deerhurst Resort in Huntsville, Ontario. I have been experimenting with crossover techniques of acrylic and pastel on canvas. My first passion is drawing so when I paint I feel I am still drawing. The energy and movement afforded by the crossover techniques of working in two media allow me to push the limits and be completely responsive and intuitive to what I am feeling.

Go and check out the artists in this show who each have their own voice. TRANSITION  will be on display at The Eclipse Art Gallery in Deerhurst from November 28, 2014 until February 28, 2015.

TENACITY
Is on display and I am a guest artist
 July 21st to September 21st, 2014
IN A SHOW CALLED,

"Artists of The Land Between"
The Land Between- known as an 'ecotone this is a recognized biologically and geologically diverse space between the Canadian Shield and the St. Lawrence Lowlands. European settlers couldn't figure out what to do with its ever-changing patchwork if rock barrens, rivers, lakes and marshlands. It wasn't until the Victorian fascination with "wilderness" that 'The Land Between' found a place in the collective psyche of Canadians-when people gave parts of it names like "Muskoka" and "The Kawarthas".

SPRING IS FINALLY HERE!!

Thankfully the warm weather has returned and Spring has Sprung! I look forward to longer days, warm sunshine and getting outside to paint. The painting above was done for a Muskoka Arts and Crafts Gallery Challenge which was to be inspired to create by a quote. I chose one that has stuck with me for many years written by Winston Churchill as follows.

" Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts." Winston Churchill

These words continue to inspire me every day, and remind me to never give up. My Dad always told me that he admired my tenacity, courage and determination. I am thankful for both my creative Mom and a very inventive Dad and for the never ending encouragement they gave me in the formative years. I have never looked back from a decision that I made as a young child to pursue my dreams as an artist. Life is a beautiful journey, full of surprises, twists and turns and I have learned to trust and bravely face whatever comes. Brief moments of darkness, fear or disappointment are replaced by the joy and thankfulness of not having to face it alone. Knowing my art is a conduit for expression I can rise above and show my sheer joy and wonder of nature, ever changing and ever soothing to my soul.

This Spring I am thankful for friends, family and the honest love and care of a special man who has opened my eyes and my heart to love again. So I close with a moment to reflect on the goodness and mercy shown to me in my life. Onward and upward, moving beyond the trials of today to a fresh new day full of joy.

HAPPY SPRING to all of you, and may the sun shine on you today! Have a colourful day!
